This is a hands-on class. There will be a 3-hour classroom session followed by a minimum of an hour of putting theory into practice--actually paddling a kayak on the water. This course is designed to 1) equip paddlers with basic skills to get from point A to point B successfully, 2) explain the legal responsibilities that come with getting on the water, and 3) understand what to do in emergency situations. And leave your paddle at home; AZGFD provides all of the paddle equipment including life jackets. Thursday will be spent working through the classroom portion of this course at the Lake Havasu Aquatic Center. There will be time for some kayak practice in the pool. The second day (Fri) is voluntary and will take place at Site 6 on the island over the London Bridge. Be sure and read full description on the website.
