The annual Don Shawver Memorial Ride will be taking place in Havasu hosted by the San Gabriel Valley Fire Department (SGVFD) Fire Hogs Motorcycle Club and the Colorado River Cities Fire Hogs M/C.
The ride will be used to bring awareness to firefighter cancer, and all of the proceeds will go to The Firefighters Cancer Support Network and The Lake Havasu Firefighter Charities.
Division Chief Don Shawver was a retired member of the Arcadia Fire Department who passed away due to job-related cancer. He was an avid motorcyclist, and Don’s passing brought the San Gabriel Valley Fire Hogs together with his family to develop the Don Shawver Memorial Motorcycle Ride.
The poker runs will be taking place on both land and water - so you can pick your fun!
Boats on Friday:
Come join us for this Boat Poker Cruise beginning under the Fire Hog banner in London Bridge Channel on Lake Havasu. The cruise will take participants around Lake Havasu from 10am until 3pm before ending with an awards ceremony for the best and worst Poker Hands and fundraising to benefit the Firefighters Cancer Support Network and Lake Havasu Firefighter charities. All are welcome! All boat poker cruise participants must sign a release form in order to participate in the cruises. Copies will be available at the registration booth. Poker hands must be purchased online (sales end at 8am on Fri, Oct. 25), $25 per hand, no limit on the number of hands that can be purchased: Click here!
Motorcycles on Saturday:
8am: Come join us as we ride from Northside Grill (35601 N Hwy 95, Ste 716) to collect poker hands, and end the ride by returning to Northside Grill for fundraising, such as a raffle and 50/50 drawing to benefit The Firefighters Cancer Support Network and The Lake Havasu Firefighter Charities. Non-riders are welcome to join the awards ceremony, raffle and 50/50 drawing after the ride.
