The 5 Best RV Parks Near Lake Havasu City

There is no objective “best” RV park near Lake Havasu City; there are five worth comparing, and the right one depends on whether you want to be in town or on the Parker Strip, whether you need sewer at the site, and how long your rig is. Here is what each one documents on its own official page, so you can book the one that fits. We have not listed rates or availability; those change, and the booking page has them.

In Lake Havasu City

Lake Havasu State Park

The in-city state park on London Bridge Road, next to the lake. Campsites have 50-amp electric and potable water at the site, with a dump station for campers rather than sewer at each site, and the park publishes a 14-night maximum stay (official campground page). Check the specific site’s dimensions when you reserve; the park does not publish one rig length for every site.

Havasu Falls RV Resort

A private resort on Highway 95 North in Lake Havasu City with full hookups (water, sewer and electric), 30- and 50-amp service, level concrete pads, and both pull-through and back-in sites (operator facilities page). The operator advertises big-rig pull-throughs but does not publish a numeric length limit, and we did not verify direct waterfront access, so ask for the exact site fit when you call: the contact page lists (928) 764-0050 for reservation inquiries.

Cattail Cove State Park

Fifteen miles south of Lake Havasu City on Highway 95, with two campgrounds that differ in what they offer. The upper campground has 78 sites with full hookups: water, sewer and 50-amp service. The lower campground has 61 sites, 57 with 30-amp and four with 50-amp electric, with water available; there is a two-week maximum stay and no overflow camping (official campground page). Choose the loop by what you need, and check site fit when you reserve. The boat-in primitive sites are separate from the drive-in RV sites.

On the Parker Strip (regional, not in town)

Buckskin Mountain State Park

Riverfront camping on the Colorado River at Parker. RV and tent sites have water and 20/30/50-amp electric, some sites have sewer hookups, and stays are limited to 14 nights. The park’s page lists no maximum RV length at these sites, but the selected site still has to fit your rig and tow vehicle together (official campground page; reserve). Not every site is full hookup, so read the amenities on the specific site before booking.

River Island State Park

Also on the Parker Strip, and the one to read carefully for rig size. Eight beachfront sites have 20-amp electric and water and suit tents and small campers up to 24 feet; 29 other sites have 20/30/50-amp electric and water and are described as up to 65 feet deep, with ten back-in and nineteen pull-through RV sites listed (official campground page; reserve). Site depth is not a blanket length authorization; match your combined length to the site you book.

How to compare them

  • In town or on the river: Lake Havasu State Park and Havasu Falls are in the city; Cattail Cove is south of it; Buckskin Mountain and River Island are Parker Strip trips.
  • Sewer at the site: Havasu Falls and Cattail Cove’s upper campground document it; Buckskin has some sewer sites; Lake Havasu State Park documents water and electric at the site with a shared dump station; River Island documents water and electric at the site, so ask the park about waste disposal before you book.
  • Length: River Island publishes the clearest size split; everywhere else, the specific site’s listed dimensions decide it.
  • Stay limits: Lake Havasu State Park, Cattail Cove and Buckskin Mountain publish 14-night or two-week maximums; confirm the permitted stay at River Island and at Havasu Falls with the operator before planning around it.

Re-check amperage, sewer, length and current park alerts in the official booking flow before you choose; we have summarized the pages, not tested a booking.
