Buying a used performance boat in Havasu
Engine build beats model year — every time. On a performance boat the number that matters isn't the year on the registration, it's what's between the stringers. The same 28-foot hull can carry a mild 500-horse setup or a built, blown, fuel-hungry motor that costs as much as the boat did, and those are two completely different purchases with two completely different price tags. Ask what's in it, who built it, when it was last freshened, and how many hours are on the current combination — not just the hull.
